Windmill Barn Location
In terms of location, Windmill Barn joins the ranks of conveniently located wedding venues in Fife.
It occupies a beautiful spot on the banks of the River Forth, approximately 5 miles west of Dunfermline.

When you arrive you will find reasonable parking, which can accommodate up to 20 guest cars.
There is additional space for event staff vehicles such as the caterers.

Windmill Barn Setting

If you are looking for somewhere with a relaxed atmosphere, then look no further than Windmill Barn.
Its countryside setting really is very peaceful, and typical of most converted barns it’s less formal and more carefree.
The owners do have their house on site, however they are very much a part of the organising team so it’s safe to call this an exclusive use wedding venue.
Access can be granted the day before so that you can setup, and the day after if you need to remove any personal items.

The current owners spent years converting the blue roofed cottage and barn, into a beautiful modern home for themselves.
However it was only recently that they converted the red roofed barn into a wedding venue.
There goal was to create an attractive space, where all you needed to add was food, drink, and of course guests.
Although you are free to decorate the venue as you wish.
You will only have access to the entrance hall of the house, however the red roofed barn, courtyard and grounds are all yours.
Windmill Barn Accommodation

The Adamson Hotel which is just outside Dunfermline is also a possibility, if you are looking for something closer and cheaper.
There are several other options in the area from wooden lodges to cheap B&Bs, depending on your requirements.

There are 7 acres to explore at Windmill Barn, and the River Forth can be walked to in just a few minutes.
You probably wont see the river from the barn because of the dense woodland, but it’s definitely worth taking a stroll down to the banks.
When it comes to your wedding photographs there is plenty of beautiful scenery to act as a fantastic backdrop, and of course the traditional rustic features typically found at converted barns.
The barn interiors also have plenty of natural light due to the large windows, so if it starts to rain you will be able to get some great indoor shots too.
