If you are on the lookout for unique wedding venues in Scotland, then how about this purpose built water front property known as The Vu?
It actually has two key buildings, one for your ceremony and one for your reception.
And both have floor to ceiling windows revealing panoramic views across the Ballencrieff Reservoir.
There’s even a 5 star Canadian log cabin, where the Bride and Groom can spend their first night as a married couple.
Let’s take a closer look at what a The Vu wedding would be like.
The Vu Location
Wedding Venues in West Lothian have the major benefit of being within a short drive of a large percentage of Scotlands population.
The Vu is beautifully located just south of Linlithgow, and can be driven from Stirling, Edinburgh, and Glasgow in less than 45 minutes.
When you arrive you will find a good sized carpark for your guests to leave their cars.
And large vehicle access is not a problem, if you are considering hiring coaches.
The Vu Setting

Unique is perhaps a word that gets overused, but the setting of The Vu definitely deserves that description.
Parts of the venue are built out onto the Ballencreiff Reservoir, so you are actually surrounded by water.
It really creates a tranquil atmosphere, with picturesque scenery in all directions.
This is also an exclusive use wedding venue so in addition to the relaxing environment, you will also have complete privacy.
It really is a lovely spot, and a nice contrast from the busy cities.

There are two main buildings you will have the use of at The Vu: Water Lily; and Oasis Suite.
They are both spectacular contemporary properties, with full height windows revealing panoramic views, and all modern facilities including fully stocked bars.
Water Lily extends out onto the water, and is where you would have your ceremony.
And Oasis Suite is on the waters edge, and is where you would have your reception.
Built to the highest standards, they really are perfect for hosting weddings.
The Vu Accommodation

There is a fantastic Canadian imported log cabin at The Vu, which offers 5 star accommodation for the bride and groom.
It has a lovely open plan layout, with modern furniture and of course beautiful views from its elevated position.
The bathroom has a free standing bath and a walk in shower, and a full Scottish breakfast will be provided in the morning.
Could be a great place for the newly-weds to spend their first night.
For more extensive accommodation, nearby Bathgate has a range of hotels and b&b’s, which includes a Premier Inn.
The Vu Ceremony

Religious, civil, and humanist ceremonies are all welcome at The Vu.
And with a capacity for up to 150 guests, you will have plenty of space.
All ceremonies are conducted in the Water Lily Suite, which means your guests are going to get the most spectacular vistas.
The room is modern with nice decor, and is absolutely flooded with natural light.
Your drinks reception can also be had in this location, allowing you to make the most of the purpose built wedding island.
The Vu Reception

You can have your dinner reception in the Water Lily Suite, however most people move across to the Oasis Suite.
It’s nice to have a change of location, and the Oasis Suite has a larger capacity at 200 guests.
That’s 120 dinner guests plus a further 80 evening guests.
You will find this room equally as impressive, still with large windows and great views.
It also has a modern vaulted ceiling which is a nice feature, and is again flooded with natural light.
Your wedding photographer will certainly save on flash batteries.
The Vu Catering

And there is a set menu from which you can choose two options per course.
Special dietary requirements can be provided for, and there is a nice kids menu.
A complimentary tasting session can also be arranged to help you make your choices.
With regards to the drinks there are two fully stocked bars, offering a fairly extensive range of beverages.
Prices are largely in line with your average city centre pub.

As you can imagine the peer is a favourite amongst brides and photographers, for getting spectacular shots.
And there are some other lovely areas to make use of too.
If the weather turns against you, all of the interiors are flooded with natural light which makes them ideal for wedding photographs as well.
