Construction of Kinross House commenced in 1685, with the goal of creating Scotlands first neoclassical Palladian mansion.

Sir William Bruce was the owner and the architect, who had become very wealthy acting as the Scottish architect for King Charles II.

The Royal Palace of Holyrood being one of his most famous projects.

In 2011 the Kinross Estate was bought by its current owner, and taken through a two year restoration project, for which they won a number of awards.

The mansion is spread over four floors, with every room full of art and antiques, and enjoying fantastic views over the gardens.

You will have the option of both an indoor and an outdoor ceremony at Kinross House.

The Grand Salon is the most popular indoor choice, with its beautiful artwork and fantastic views over the gardens.

This room can seat as many as 200 guests, but there are more intimate options if you would prefer.

You can have your dinner reception in the formal Dining Room, which has a beautiful ceiling painting.

However this room can only seat 28 guests, and sadly they no longer allow dancing in the house.

Your best option is to put up a marquee on the lawn overlooking the loch.

There is space for a 400 person marquee here, and access points for electricity, water, and even WIFI.

Your drinks reception can be had in either the walled garden, or in the Reception Hall.

If you choose to have your dinner reception inside Kinross House, then their own chef will create the perfect menu for you.

However for marquee weddings there are four outside caterers from which you can make your selection:

There is a professional kitchen inside the mansion, which is suitable for catering to 400 guests.

There are 100 acres of formal gardens, pastureland, and woodland at Kinross House.

In addition to this you have the 14 square kilometre Loch Leven, the largest loch in the Scottish Lowlands, which was declared a National Nature Reserve in 1964.

The formal gardens were actually planted 10 years before construction started on the house, and in the distance you will see Lochleven Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was once imprisoned.
