Transporting guests from both cities by coach would be manageable, and large buses can fit up at least one of the estates driveways.

You can make use of 7 bedrooms in Guthrie Castle, which can sleep up to 14 people.

There are two suites, one triple room, three double rooms, and one single room.

For further accommodation you also have 4 estate cottages:

• Gate Lodge, 1 bedroom, sleeps 2.
• Carrington Cottage, 1 bedroom, sleeps 2.
• Hay Cottage, 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4.

All of the cottages are on the grounds, and within a few minutes walk of the castle.

Both Guthrie Castle and the gardens are licensed for religious, civil, and humanist ceremonies.

The most popular wedding location is the Walled Garden, using the yew topiary hedge ‘bridal aisle’.

You and your guests will emerge from the stone entrance to reveal this enchanting kingdom.

Should the weather turn, the bright and spacious Castle Drawing Room is a great indoor option for up to 60 guests.

And if that’s not big enough, the Castle Pavilion can also be used.

For religious ceremonies, the estate has its own little 20 seat chapel.

Or the Guthrie Village Church can be used, with a capacity for 150+ guests.

Located two minutes from the castle, you can arrive in the back of the estates private Bentley.

Guthrie Castle Reception

For your drinks reception there is a lovely lawn area inside the walled garden, complete with wooden furniture.

It’s a beautiful spot for chatting and relaxing, especially if you have had an outdoor ceremony.

For your dinner reception the Dining Room in Guthrie Castle can be used, providing your guest numbers are 40 or less.

Most people go for the Castle Pavilion however, which was purpose built for wedding receptions.

It has a state of the art kitchen so food can be prepared on site, and can seat up to 250 guests comfortably.

You won’t even need to move the tables and chairs to create a dance floor.

Guthrie Castle Catering

The catering is handled internally at Guthrie Castle.

They have a number of menus for you to choose from, and you can mix and match if you’d like.

For something completely unique, it is also possible to have a menu created specially for you.

Dietary requirements are no problem, including gluten free and halal.

And when it comes to drinks, there are bar facilities in the castle, the gardens, and the Scottish Pub in the pavilion.

Guthrie Castle Grounds

From the walled garden to the private loch, there are 156 acres to explore at Guthrie Castle.

The manicured lawns extend beyond the gardens and onto the golf course, with numerous species of flowers to be found dotted around the estate.

Some of the yew hedges are 160 years old.

You can head out onto the Laird’s course for a quick round, or perhaps play lawn games inside the 2.2 acre walled garden.

There’s even Pike fishing on the loch.

This really is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors, with so many great spots for wedding photos.

The Guthrie Suite, with its stunning views over the loch, makes the perfect Bridal Suite.

It’s a large room containing a king size bed, and has plenty of space for the all important preparation.
