The City of Discovery is closest at 15 miles, with a journey time of approximately 25 minutes.

Although Perth is not far behind at 20 miles, with a journey time of roughly 35 minutes.

Both Edinburgh and Stirling can be driven from in less than 1 hour too.

And despite having a narrow drive, coach access should be ok if you are planning to put on transport.

Fernie Castle is not your typical exclusive use wedding venue, and you can just hire the individual rooms that you need.

This could be the Great Hall for your ceremony, the Balfour Suite for your reception, and a few of the bedrooms.

With the rest of the hotel remaining open to the public.

Or you could take the entire castle exclusively which would be considerably more expensive, but would have the benefit of giving you absolute privacy.

Either way the historic atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, will provide the perfect backdrop for your special day.

Originally built in the 14th century, Fernie Castle remained a private home until 1960.

It was then converted into a hotel, and today is owned and managed by Neil and Mary Blackburn.

As you can imagine the property is full of character with fairytale turrets, and yet it has all the modern comforts expected in the 21st century.

Be sure to look out for the Keep Bar which dates back to 1530, and is a truly unique setting to relax with a drink.

Also worth mentioning is that over 1,000 weddings have been hosted at the castle, so you can rest assured that you are in well practiced hands.
