Assynt House was originally built in the late 18th century, and it’s thought that President Franklin D Roosevelt and Eleanor spent part of their honeymoon here.

Sadly the house fell into serious disrepair, and was all but ruined when it’s current owners bought it in 2002.

They spent nearly four years restoring the Georgian mansion to its former glory, and have since been awarded 5 stars by the Scottish tourist board.

Set over three floors the property has a stunning wood panelled Drawing Room with open fire, a luxury kitchen, and a range of other versatile reception rooms.

It’s a very elegant place for hosting a wedding.
